The digital turbidity sensor, also often called the digital turbidity sensor, is a precision instrument used to measure the concentration of suspended matter in water. It is based on optical principles and calculates the turbidity of water, i.e. turbidity, by measuring the scattering phenomenon of light when it passes through an aqueous solution.

This digital turbidity sensor uses an RS485 communication interface and standard Modbus protocol, comes with a cleaning brush, uses an infrared light source, is not affected by the chromaticity of the water sample, and uses a 90° scattering method, which is suitable for various harsh working environments.

Working principle: When light passes through a liquid containing suspended particles, part of the light will be reflected by the particles, and the other part of the light will penetrate the particles and reach the detector. According to the light scattering theory, the scattering intensity of light by particles is proportional to its concentration. Therefore, by measuring the intensity of reflected light and penetrating light (or the ratio of scattered light to transmitted light ), the concentration of particles, i.e. the turbidity of water, can be calculated.

Application:

Drinking water monitoring: ensure the cleanliness and safety of drinking water, monitor the turbidity of water sources, water plant outlets and pipe network end water.
